Olanzapine weight gain

Any positive stories? Anyone managed to not put on tons of weight on a dose of around 5-7mg?

I'm sorry but I was on this and within an hour of taking it I was RAVENOUS. I gained about 3 stone in as many months and am still trying to lose the weight 2 years on, it's awful though it was needed and helped my symptoms

We use this drug in my line of work and sadly one of the most common side effects is an ‘insatiable appetite’ the best advice we give is to know this, that you are not really hungry it’s a side effect and eat as you normally would and healthier if you can. It’s really tough though p

@boymama82 was that at a low dose?

I am on this periodically and the only answer is to not to eat more than you usually do. Avoid soft drinks like coke particularly

I take quiatiapine which has similar side effects. I'm fatter but much more stable. Its a choose your hard kind of situation!

@Treetops12 yes it was 5mg, I honestly tried not to eat more but I was given it in the evenings and my stomach was growling so much I couldn't sleep!
