How do you know when it's time to increase the dose?

Hi all, just looking for some advice, on Escitalopram (Lexapro) for the last 3 months, and feel like they've been making a good difference, anxiety has been manageable and also having CBT therapy but this last week I'm finding some of the symptoms creeping back in, feeling my heart beating in my chest when trying to go to sleep and feeling shaky facing problems at work again and generally feeling that monkey on my back feeling, so is this a sign that might be a good time to increase my dosage from 10mg to 15mg or 20mg? How does it work

TIA
3kids

Call your GP for a medication review - I gave mine with the pharmacist at my local GP and he decides based on what I’m feeling/struggling with compared to the last time

Thanks @WinnysPinny GP I have been seeing is off until end of August and don't want to see the other GPs as she has a good understanding I suppose of what's going on with me and plus I think I'm afraid they won't adjust the dose and I'll be left feeling like this (although I'll be feeling like this anyway until my own GP comes back god anxiety is a nightmare)

Could you do an E consult? Just let them know if you’re having side effects, and tell them what you’ve told us (copy and paste from your post if you want). Increasing the dose is pretty standard, 10mg is sub-therapeutic for a lot of people so I doubt they’d question the request.

Good idea @Howmanysleepsnow I will give them an email in the morning see how that goes hopefully it'll be straightforward enough. Also with an increased dose are you at risk of having side effects again? I had some for the first 2 weeks (jaw tightness, feeling spaced out and a bit disconnected but it passed)

Thanks

@3kidsaremorethanenough

How did the increase go? Wondering about the same question. To increase to 10mg

I rang up today to increase my sertraline because of SAD and they literally did it there and then, I didn’t even have to speak to a doctor, the receptionist just spoke to the duty doctor for me and increased it.
