I wondered if anyone could help me with a checklist of things I should ask my GP.

I have had off and on mental health stuggles over the years but am not sure they have ever been fully investigated.

For example I have been reading about thyroid problems and was once told I had a goiter by a passerby, but I don't remember this ever being discussed with the doctor. I am not sure if I have ever had tests for anything physical such as this.

I think it might also be good to have other hormones checked as I am aware peri-memopause is potentially creeping close.

I really just want to check out all possible causes as I don't think this has been done (maybe it has, I really struggled through some of the early appointments).

Can anyone help me with what I should be asking for?

Really that is their job to tell you what tests etc you might need based on your presentation.

Maybe you can just go prepared with some notes on how your MH affects you, how long it's been going on for, what the actual symptoms are, the severity and frequency of the symptoms.

If you are sure it's something physical or medical, maybe just highlight that so they can do necessary bloods etc.
