Hi, can anyone recommend a book they’ve used for self-therapy for cognitive behavioural therapy, intrusive thoughts, anxiety? There are so many available online, I don’t know where to start! Thanks

Not a book but an excellent learning course;

www.udemy.com/course/cognitive-behavioural-therapy-online-course-cbt-practitioner-course/

Even if you only use it for self knowledge it will teach you SO much about why you think the way you do and how to change your patterns of feelings, thoughts and behaviours. Don't pay full price though, click on the link a couple of times and with the magic of algorithms it will drop to less than £20!

Someone on here recommended Dr Claire Weekes ‘Self Help For Your Nerves’ for anxiety. I found it incredibly helpful, she write as if she’s talking directly to you and it really really resonated with me. Whenever I was having a panic attack I would grab it and read sections I’d highlighted. It’s from the 1960s so I little dated but apparently it pathed the way for CBT techniques.
