Asking on behalf of a friend with stress anxiety. Is there anything similar where df can take as and when needed rather than AD? They are reluctant to take any AD \ AA long term medication due to the nature of their job and potential side effects of brain fog etc initially. They need to take the edge off the stress but are asthmatic, and needs montelekast as well as preventative and relieved inhaler. They are also one of those people that hate to bother their dr. I was looking for some real life experiences so they can research before making an appt

CBD Drinks (Trip) may be helpful - but check whether they interact with montelukast - from memory they don't but I am not 100% sure.

If they have a job where they need to operate heavy machinery or need to keep a clear head, do they need regular drug tests? CBD would get them fired.

Do they not want to bother the doctor, or do they want to keep their mental health issues a secret from their employer?

Stress anxiety in a highly responsible position is an Occupational Health issue. If they don't ask for help, burnout is on the cards.

CBD does not come up in a drug test - it's THC that is screened for in drugs tests but yes it shouldn't be used with heavy machinery.

I have severe asthma and take bisporolol (although that's for another condition rather rather anxiety)

Not heavy machinery. It is an academic role where they can't afford to be foggy headed. I will tell them about bisporolol thanks.

They don't want to bother Dr as old fashioned and thinking they need to man up when in fact they are headed for burn out.

@TheMortalWombat what do you think of the trip drinks ? Bought one but nervous about drinking it !

Might be worth reading up about MH effects of montelukast?

www.ajmc.com/view/fda-steps-up-warning-for-montelukast-for-risk-of-mental-health-side-effects

Are they sure it's not the montelukast CAUSING the anxiety?
