Stopped citaolpram suddenly- has anyone experienced these side effects?

I ran out of citalopram and now been off it nearly 2 weeks until I could get repeat prescription.

im feeling exhausted and lethargic- is this a side effect of coming off it? ( there’s a chance this is just general tiredness/ period related)

Yup! I also had headaches, nausea, muscle pain and generally feeling miserable. SSRI withdrawal feels a lot like early pregnancy!

Did you go straight back on it? Or were you coming off it long term?

My DS got stuck on it as whenever he tried to stop he got horrendous withdrawal symptoms which he likened to heroin! (Not that he’s ever tried heroin of course! But really unwell)

I was coming off it to go onto a different one because it wasn't working for me.
