If you had a child receive therapy/counselling through Bupa, how many sessions did Bupa pay for?

We're going to take our daughter(14) to see a therapist as she is suffering from self-esteem and body dysmorphia issues.
We're trying to decide whether to take her to an excellent Bupa covered therapist 40 mins away at £130 per session, obviously Bupa will cover some sessions.
Alternatively we have a highly recommended therapist 5 minutes away who charges £85 but is not covered by Bupa.
If she needs 50 sessions and Bupa only pay for 10 then the local therapist costs less overall, if Bupa pay for 18 or more then Bupa works out cheaper.

Obviously I have no idea how many sessions she'll need but her symptoms are probably not severe but she's not the child she was a couple of years ago, obviously puberty and pandemic are part of the problem.

If people could tell me how many sessions Bupa paid for that would help us make our decision?
Thanks

Call BUPA and ask. They gave me 20 sessions of preauthorisation for CBT but it’s so person dependant. They also might give more if that’s what they think is needed.

Up to £1500 per year so depends on cost of sessions. Have a look at the policy wording to see the annual limit as the policies will vary depending on what premium you pay/policy you have.
