Sorry if this has been asked before but I was on 150mg sertaline due to having a mini breakdown, dont want to discuss that.I felt my mood was dipping again so I asked for dose to be increased so is now 200. However I now feel more moody and low mood most days than before. Can anyone advise if this is because the higher dosage doesn't work as well?or is it because I'm coming up for peri-menopause as I'm 45.
I'm also a lot more emotional than when I was on lower dosage, I presumed the higher dose would make me feel happier.
Any advise welcome thanks

Not a doctor (nor might anyone be, on the internet!) so take what I say with a pinch of salt - based purely on my experience on this and similar medications.

How long have you been on either dose? I think those are high doses for sertraline, and if they were going to work you’d expect to see some improvement within ~3 weeks. Sometimes the first few days on a new medication, you can feel worse before you feel better; but if that continues past the first few days then it’s probably not the right medication for you, at least not in isolation. Going up in dosage may not help. I’d suggest getting back in touch with your GP or psychiatrist if you have concerns.
