Hi all. I’ve been on 45mg mirtazipine and 120mg of propranolol for the last 2 years. I’ve recently been prescribed 20mg of fluoxetine to add in and a short course of promethezine at 2 x 25mg each day.
I feel like this is quite a lot. Is anyone else on a similar combo? How did you find adding in fluoxetine or a second anti-depressant? If you’re have experience with promethezine use during the day, did the foggy feeling wear off? Since adding the fluoxetine I have a horrible constant tingling sensation in the back of my head (that I used to get with really bad panic attacks) and I feel really sick and have totally lost my appetite.
Any thoughts/advice welcome.

I don’t think anyone here can really advise but you are definitely allowed to ask your doc for a clear rationale on your treatment. You should at least make your doctor aware of the side effects you are experiencing and if and when you may expect them to subside and what should happen if they don’t. You don’t have to take anything you don’t want to. Feeling sick and having no appetite is obviously not ideal.

I had a severe tremor on Prozac which might have been due to medication interactions - I was on a lot of others, including opiates. I am on propranolol too, mostly for my BP but a nice side effect is that my anxiety is better. it wipes me out though so I can only manage 60 at night and 40 very early in the morning and then go back to sleep. I'm on a shorter acting AD that I take at night called Valdoxan. I'd definitely be asking for the rationale behind your change in regime.
