Sertraline- body jolting when asleep?

3rd day yesterday, last night I woke up several times with what I can only describe as a full body jolt! Is this expected at the beginning. Scared me if I’m honest. I’m on 50mg for severe anxiety, can’t say body jolts are helping!

Yes, I had that but it resolved after about 10 days, as did the severe nausea I had.
Remember that not all medications suit everyone so if it carries on for more than a couple of weeks discuss with your gp. Best wishes .

Thank you for replying. I will keep an eye on it. I never know if it is my anxious brain or something else it is exhausting

Did you start on 25mg for a week first? I've just started too and the leaflet says to do that, perhaps to help with side effects

No I went straight to 50mg. I was actually prescribed them at Xmas but couldn’t last a week. I was hoping to ride the first few weeks out if it means there is light at the end of the tunnel. I went off what the Dr prescribed. I should have read the instructions again maybe
