Getting diazepam privately

I have a massive fear of flying. It is embarassing yes, but my GP has previously prescribed me a small dose of valium to help me with a plane journey. It helped me so much and kept me calm. I also don't want my kids to pick up on my fear so I arranged for my DH to sit with them on the plane, while I sat in a different row. The diazepam enabled us to have a family holiday.

Anyway so the issue is that my GP surgery is no longer willing to prescribe diazepam to anyone for plane journeys (the surgery's new rule). So, how should I go about getting a private prescription? Who do I approach? I don't want to go via some dodgy website! Does anyone have any advice? I am on an SSRI for my general anxiety but this is different, it's very specific and I feel the diazepam prevented me from having a full-on mid-air panic attack in front of my children and scaring them and other passengers.

I’d like to know this too , have had it for dental work before but they no longer prescribe

I have Schizoaffective disorder and can get very paranoid and anxious.

My psychiatrist prescribed Promethazine 25mg tablets. They are actually anti histamines but are used off label as either sleeping tablets or anti anxiety tablets.
I find 25mg have a good calming effect whereby they make me feel cam & relaxed but still able to function.
I think 50mg would put me to sleep!

Maybe ask the gp for a prescription of those, for your anxiety, don't necessarily mention it's for flying....

By the way I'm on anti depressants, anti psychotics & anti epileptic drugs; Promethazine goes well with various meds.

You can buy promethazine over the counter. its also called Phenergan

Yes actually I forgot you can buy it over the counter. I'm just used to getting it on prescription. I would recommend trying it.
