Does anyone get thoughts or images pop into their head uncontrollably and they can be quite upsetting?

Yep.
And quite tiring.
I've found that listening to the same piece of music on repeat can be helpful in fading them out - maybe that might help you? Really, really focus on each note / instrument / whatever.

I can make a mountain Out of a molehill - I try so hard not to fuck up at work - I did last week and I’m off this week so now my head is full of shit that I’ll be in when I go back — reality is it wasn’t that bad a fuck up but my head is way beyond logically at times

yes I find it best to acknowledge "oh this is an intrusive though and happening because..."

it does help it go faster if I can tell that its happening because I'm stressed or because its my brain trying to pre prepare me for the worst etc..
