Started Venaflaxine about 2 weeks ago. Lots of side effects. I'm feeling scared.

Insomnia
Aching jaws
Sweaty panic attacks
Aching muscles
Extreme fatigue
Dry mouth
Leg cramps
Irritable
Weepy
Lethargic
Dizzy
Vomiting

This is my fifth AD in 5 years.

I feel completely overwhelmed today. Work tomorrow. I just want to feel better.

Today it is rage. Pure, undiluted rage. 🤬

I'm in agony. I've been vomiting since 10pm. I can't lie down due to the pain.

I can't keep going like this.

What dosage are you on?

octoberfarm · 01/06/2022 03:56

Oh OP, that sounds miserable. You poor thing. I don't have any good advice but just wanted to offer you a handhold so you know you're not alone. Can you call 111 for advice, and also call the GP first thing in the morning? Hope you're feeling better soon Flowers

Thank you for responding. I felt a little less alone!

I spoke to the GP on Wed. He wants to continue the Ven for 4 more weeks but add Mirtazipine to see if that helps.

I slept last night all night until 9am this morning. Sleep always helps.

I'm on 75mg of the Ven.

Oh love, all the symptoms you have detailed are common with Venflaxine. Would it be possible to drop the dosage down and see how you go (obviously get GP advice for tapering off).
How are you today?

stargirl1701 · 02/06/2022 18:10

I'm reasonable today. Managed to get up, get dressed and potter around the house.

I'm hoping I'm over the worst 🤞🏻

Good to hear an update.
Up, dressed and pottering around house is good stuff. Hopefully you are getting used to Venflaxine now and things will improve. Take care. Hope you have a similarly restful and relaxing day tomorrow too.
