Escitalopram

I wondered if anyone had had many side effects when starting these?
Day 4 and my heart will not stop pounding. Have tried various antidepressants and I'm beginning to think they don't suit me anymore.
I had a breakdown in October and I'm struggling to make any progress getting better. Feel utterly broken.

I think my main side effect was vivid dreams. It does take a while to get used to new medication - months rather than weeks. I’m sorry that you are feeling low. Can you check in with whoever prescribed them?

I've halved my dose to 5mg to see if that helps.

Oh yes I remember having to start on a half dose and work up to a full dose - I think it was over a couple of weeks. Hope that helps you.

I remember feeling nauseous for at least a week after starting Escitalopram, I don’t remember palpitations. Everything settled down after a couple of weeks though, and three weeks later I was feeling so much calmer and less anxious ( I’m diagnosed with GAD).

So speak to your GP and unless they say otherwise, I’d recommend persevering with Escitalopram for a few weeks. 💐

The anxiety and palpitations are unreal. I know that it can take a few weeks for things to settle down but it's no fun at all. I think I have GAD and I haven't been able to manage it so well.

Hi OP just wondering how you are getting on now? I started on 10mg on Monday and have been OK until last night felt a bit shakey going to bed and a bit panicky but it is definitely helping me sleep better, wondering how you feel a few weeks into it?
