Venlafaxine and night sweats

Hi, I have been on Venlafaxine now for 5 weeks, going from 37.5 up to 75mg. This medication has really helped with my depression - I was on Citalopram prior to this and it just wasn't working for me. I would be very reluctant to stop it now HOWEVER the night sweats are chronic. About 2 days after starting this medication they started and they have not stopped for 5 weeks. I wake up numerous times per night absolutely pouring with sweat, freezing cold. My bed is soaked and I am having to change sheets frequently. Also having very very vivid dreams.

My question is - for anyone on this medication who suffered from these horrendous night sweats - did they eventually stop?

It's making me really dehydrated in the mornings also
thanks!

The sweating doesn't stop I'm afraid but mine is alllll day long every day, my face is constantly soaked, people look at me with pity cos it literally drips from my nose and I have to stuff my bra with tissue to keep wiping my face! I had this at 75mg and it worsened when I went up to 150mg. I've an appointment today to discuss coming off it, I can't cope with the sweating anymore, or my body's refusal to drop weight! Good luck with it, the mental health benefits are incredible if u can cope with the side effects, I can't x
