Are there any counselling paradigms that don't want to dig up negative stuff from your past and just help find tools to deal with the present?

I have had endless counselling and CBT etc over the last 20 years. I am currently having Person Centred Counselling. My therapist suggests strategies to help with my current struggles. I think it’s going quite well and no negative things are trawled up unless I chose to talk about it.

Guided self- help might fit the bill. The therapist is able to point you to the self- help strategies you need. Usually delivered by a PWP (psychological well-being practitioner) in the NHS
