Could I have post-natal depression?

I have a three month old son, and a four year old daughter. Just lately I've been having overwhelming feelings of paranoia, exclusion, and low self esteem. Haven't yet had a period, so could be hormones from preg. still, but not sure whether I should speak to GP. Oh and keep wanting to cry too. But I'm ok around the children...I just feel crap in social situations. Any advice?

Definitely speak to your GP or your HV (If she is a nice, approachable one)
How were you before the birth? PND (and depression full stop) affects different people in different ways, and anti-depressants can help get you back onto an emotionally even keel. But no-one will force you take these, so it's worth talking to your HV about how your are feeling.
One thing about PND is it won't go away all by itself. But there are lots of ways you can help yourself feel better.
Good luck x

j5baby I agree with filthymindedvixen I think you should see GP sooner rather than later. I've just had third DD 11 weeks ago and I feel over whelmed with some really irrational fears that I have never experianced before. I'm seeing GP on Monday hoping to nip it in the bud quickly, if thats possible. j5baby do something now to get help.
