Have you ever had a stress rash?

I'm having a bad time with my mental health, cycling through anxiety & depression. I've had many anxiety symptoms across recent years from tight jaw muscles to stomach aches and neck pain.

For the past week I've had an unusual rash on my neck and face. Partly spotty and partly flat/red/blotchy.

I have an appointment tomorrow with a GP to finally ask for advice on antidepressants but just curious as to whether other people get rashes from anxiety and what your experience is.

DD started getting stress/anxiety rashes a few years ago - they tend to come and go though, not stay. Before her final school exams last year every morning she had a really bad rash on her chest and neck on exam mornings but it would fade by evening. You could actually see it appear and spread. Other events she finds stressful cause the rash too, it is annoying but she lives with it (she is seeing a psychologist, but her GP just said “stress rash” when she explained it and didn’t give her anything particular to deal with it).

Thanks so much. This seems to have been permanent for a week or so. Will see what the GP says. I hope your DD is doing well!

Psoriasis gets really bad when I'm stressed, a bit different I know but think our bodies react to stress and anxiety. I hope your dr can help
