Real event ocd

Does anyone else suffer from real event ocd?

It’s begun to really impact my life, and I’m trying to make myself seek out treatment and medication for it for the first time.

If anyone else has experience of this particular manifestation of ocd I would love to hear your story, and whether counselling or medication (if you’ve tried them) have made a positive difference. I haven’t knowingly met anyone else that suffers from this and would just really like to hear about the experience of others.

Hello, I was doing a Google search for real event ocd and mumsnet, and came across your post! I have the same thing, and am really struggling with it and how to get over it. I'm sorry I can't help with any hints and tips, but wanted to let you know you're not alone. For me it spoils lots of things in life and I'm so ready to put it to bed once and for all! But I just don't know how.

Hey sorry for the late reply. Thanks for your message. I feel the same way, I finally got my first therapy session booked next week as I’m so tired of it flaring up again and again- if it’s any help I’ll let you know!
