Coming off citalopram accidentally!

So, I've been on citalopram for around 18 months and have reduced from 20>10>5....
I've lost my tablets! Haven't taken one for 2 days, feel OK ish, a bit on edge with anxiety, but bearable.
Slept 8 hours last night which is better than usual. Is it OK just to come off them, or do I have side effects awaiting me! xx

As you were on such a low dose, and you are OK 2 days in, I would guess you'll be fine in terms of withdrawal symptoms. If you are still suffering anxiety symptoms however, that's another consideration, to discuss with your GP. Did they OK the reduction to 5 mgs?

5 is a very low dose, you should be fine. If you'd gone from 20 to 0 I'd be concerned but not 5.

Five is a tiny tiny dose. You’ll be fine.

Ah thanks everyone, I decided to get a repeat prescription as my anxiety was creeping up, and I have a few stressful weeks ahead of me

I think that the 5mg just takes the edge off x

So funny, I've just checked my tablets and I'm actually taking 10mg! So pretty glad I got a repeat, though have now found the original tablets in an obscure place !
