What can care coordinators do?

My new care coord has asked me to think about what I want from him. I said I wasn't sure what he could do, but he said just think of anything. All I've got is going out, what else could he do, anyone?

My care coordinators didn't do much. Mainly checked out how I am. With one we did some sort of therapy but that's it.

I've had similar checking out, and that's about it, so I'm not sure what to say...

Tell him you struggle with open questions and ask him to be more specific in types of support he can off. I hate questions like that.

It is something personal to you, and your relationship with your new care co-ordinator.
What is it you would like help with? Going out is a great start. What else? Maybe looking for groups you could engage with?

Groups are a thought, not sure what else though.

Have you done any sort of therapies such as CBT or DBT? They can help with that too.
My old CPN was DBT trained, so we would go over the skills a lot.

Ah right, interesting. I've just come out of 41 sessions of CBT and trauma work.

Hopefully your new care co-ordinator has been assigned to you based on your needs and experience.

Oh no, they were so short staffed I didn't have one, this is a locum. I've had 9 care coordinators in a year and a half before.

Have you got any goals, or anything you want to change in your life? Maybe he or she could help with that?
