How much for counselling?

Ive decided to see a counsellor and have arranged for free initial consultation but the fee ranges from 50-60£ per hour or 50 mins thereafter. I have since looked further and some companies are saying 35£ per session? How much have you paid for counselling if you have ever received any? I dont mind paying more if its worth it but if its all the same id be silly not to go for the cheaper option? Has anyone any experience in this?

I'm paying £50. Started at £40 18months ago, but has increased.
Phone call though could now be face to face.

My excellent counsellor is £60ph. I’d probably focus on finding one that you think you could open up to. I rang around a few and went with my instinct. Another one I liked cost £120ph! I couldn’t have afforded many sessions with her!

My god 120 Blush that could buy me lots of ben & jerry's and wine instead. How often do you have consultations? Every 2 weeks or? Im just thinking i don't want to be out a fortune either.

Some of them charge you on a sliding scale. So depending on your income.

I have been charged between £25 and £70, But all of it was worth every penny.

Changed my life a million times over.

Mine has also been worth every penny. I have a phone call with her every week and she is so very wise and helpful. I don’t spend much on myself day to day and I really consider this to be an investment in myself that was very very much needed.

Mine is £55 per hour. Worth every penny.

Mine used to be free on the nhs but they pulled that rug out from under me.
I then paid to see the same counsellor privately for £40.
He used to come to my house (I have mobility issues)which was very helpful.
When lockdown started we switched over to FaceTime. I'm quite comfortable with them so it wasn't weird. He reduced the price to £35.

I'm only £30 for phone or video call.
Most of my clients prefer it to face to face following the pandemic.

I paid 50 a session but only needed around 8 sessions; one a week. Changed my life and would do it again in a heartbeat. The most important thing is to find a therapist that you can open up with and you can trust.

Mine charges 50 to 80 depending on the timeslot. Evenings are more expensive than days.
