So just to say I have contacted the GP this morning (via econsult) and have been told they will contact me back tomorrow which isn’t helping the anxious mind monkeys doing over time right now.
Quick background - currently off work with depression/anxiety. Have completed cbt course which has helped but have also been prescribed sertraline. I took it at my complete lowest in January, just one 50mg, and the side effects were so bad (dizziness, sickness etc) I couldn’t get out of bed for 2 days, and as I was feeling so low I couldn’t face feeling worse so have left them. However after completing cbt im feeling stronger - though not back to normal yet - so decided to try again. Only been taking 25mg for 13 days now. Had a bit of insomnia the first couple of nights but that’s all and now I feel really great in myself. Like a cloud has been lifted and it’s amazing BUT yesterday I woke up and my right eyelid was all droopy. Didn’t think too much of it and hoped it would go overnight but instead I woke up today and the left eyelid has also drooped, my right eye is so swollen I can’t open it normally. All puffy all around. I’ve read the leaflet and it states swollen eyes as an uncommon side effect. Dr Google gives mixed messages on how serious this is.
Does this mean I should stop taking the sertraline? Do I take todays or tomorrow whilst waiting for gp to contact me? I don’t want to miss a dose but also don’t want to make things worse.
Has anyone else experienced eye swelling? How long did it take to go down? I’ve refused to leave the house today over how I look with it as I really look awful.
