Don't feel anything

I'm being made redundant. I've got interviews lined up. The war on the news. I've been unable to feel the past couple of weeks. I don't feel sad, I don't feel happy. I just feel numb, like a stone. Is this normal and how can I get my feelings back?

I few like that. Just plodding along. Changed jobs last week and people ask if I miss my old job.. I miss one person. I honestly couldn’t give a shit about the job or anyone else.
Perhaps it’s all the shit on tv, Ukraine, covid, brexit it’s been years of doom and gloom.. it’s bound to get to all of us.
I stopped watching the news, what’s the point! Hopefully with the sunnier weather, flowers in bloom something will pop and I’ll start to feel again.
I’m on ADs and anxiety meds perhaps they have something to do with it too.

No, it's not normal, I don't think. But also not your fault.

I'm sorry about your job. When are your interviews? Do you think the redundancy has triggered your numbness, or were you feeling it anyway?

Right now, I wish I didn't feel anything either. And that's not normal either. Haven't eaten in nearly a week. But one specific thing has caused that.

I haven't watched the news in over two years. Barely been on social media in months. I feel so ignorant and selfish about what's happening in the world, but for my own mental health, that's how it has to be.

I've just been out for a walk, that always helps a little.
