If you take citalopram, what time of the day do you think is best?

And why. Just that really.

I don’t any more but when I did I took it in the morning as I read somewhere it was least likely to disrupt sleep that way.

I take it at bed time, simply because that's when I take all my meds and it's the only way I'd remember. Also, when I first started taking it, I thought that if I took it a bedtime and there were any adverse side effects it wouldn't be so bad.

I believe the leaflet says to take it in the morning though.

Bedtime. It has quite a sedating effect on me.

Some people find it sedating, and others the opposite. You could try taking it at night for a while, and then switch to morning for a while, to see which works best for you.

I've just started with this medication and take it in the morning. Today is day 8 for me.

First 6 days I felt tired. That side effect seems to be easing now.

I've heard some people take it at night

tinatsarina · 12/04/2022 17:56

I take it at night as it makes me tired and I've got kids so worried about being zoned out and having to look after the kids. I'm now getting night sweats so thinking of switching back to mornings to see if it stops them
