I don’t know where to start. I don’t eat very healthily, I drink a bit too much at the weekend which means I’m a blob from Saturday to sunday. I’m riddled with anxiety and sometimes depression. I need to starts new habits but I have to change all my habits. Anyone can share some wisdom? Thank you :)

Don’t rush in and try to do it all at once.
Pick one thing and, when you’ve mastered that, add something else.

Alcohol is a depressive. Maybe start with that? Other things may feel easier to tackle when you aren’t feeling so rubbish all weekend.

When I stopped drinking, and feeling rubbish the next day, not only did my mood improve but I also felt better able to tackle the healthy eating and then the exercise. Just take it day by day and notice the improvements you feel to help spur yourself on.

Start small. Changing something small or doing something new will help you feel like you are making a change. Take a short walk. Have a Friday or Saturday night off drinking and plan something productive to do the next morning. Are there any hobbies you like or used to like ? Any classes in your local area ? A class or meet-up to look forward to can give you some structure and routine. Exercise can also work wonders for your mental health and good for you physically do. Anything from walks, to yoga, to even lifting weights, you might surprise yourself at what you end up enjoying .
