Citalopram

Hi,
My GP has prescribed me Citalopram. I’m suffering with low mood and anxiety. This has been going on for a while now, but it’s recently been intensified by the loss of my grandma 2 weeks ago.
I should have looked for help a long time ago, but I kept putting it off.

I’m just wondering if Citalopram is going to help me? I’m curious what other people’s experiences are with it.

People will have different experiences I'm afraid. But for me it was a positive one. No side effects and lots of help.
If I needed to again I wouldn't hesitate to go back on it.

My DD started her antidepressant journey on citalopram, for anxiety. It worked brilliantly for her anxiety, but then we realised she had depression as well, and it didn't work for that. She is treatment resistive though. No side effects from the citalopram either.

Good luck, I hope it works for you.

I have bern on this for a couple of years and yes it works. It doesnt make everything better but it defo helps take the edge off things i.e. not getting so panicky / anxious. I think it takes a few weeks to get into ur system so sooner u start the better.

Oh and its not addictive! Xx

Thank you for your replies. I’m glad it’s helped you.
I’m going to start taking it this morning. I hope it makes a difference as the way I’m feeling is unbearable. Sad
