Setraline & horrendous dreams

Hi - wondering if anyone can help. My 19 year old DD has been taking 100mg Setraline for severe depression and anxiety which has helped her greatly Started on 50mg in Nov & increased to 100mg in Jan. Had bad side effects of nausea, headaches etc both when started & dose increased but these have improved. However she is still really struggling to sleep & is exhausted due to vivid dreams. Currently taking first thing in morning.Does anyone know whether taking before bed would help or an alternative medication would be better? Many thanks

I think it may be worth asking the doctor for chat to see what they would suggest.

Maybe she just needs more time to get use to the higher dose.

I personally take 50mg around 10pm each night. I find if I over sleep like a lie in or fall asleep in the afternoon I’ll get awful vivid dreams.

I've had that with Citalopram, think it's quite common with SSRIs. Should go away within a couple weeks but if not, might be worth speaking to your GP about switching to a different one.
