Hi folks, first time posting on here.

I started on 20mg of citalapram ( antidepressant) 3 weeks ago, for general low mood which has seen me off work now for 6 weeks and also anxiety. It all just became to much, so I built up the courage to start on the tablets.

I take it around tea time, they definitely have given me a couple of days when I feel like I could take on the world. But overall still quite flat, definitely more anxious at times, sick on/off but my main worry is I don’t feel as sharp when I’m driving. I am aware of dangers etc but feel foggy and definitely not as quick in my reactions.

Do others have experience of this? And will it pass? I really need to drive but I feel like ditching the pills if it doesn’t pass!

It’s only been 3 weeks but feels like a life time. Thanks so much for any advice x

I'd give it another week and if it still happens then go back to GP and ask to change to a different AD.

Definitely don't drive if they make you foggy though, you could kill someone and at the least if you crash your insurance would be invalid.

I haven’t driven in a few days now as just thought il see if it settles. Maybe another week or so to adjust to the medication is what’s needed. I did read somewhere it can take at least 4-6 weeks to take full effects and ease into your system 🤞
