Anxiety is back

I have the most horrible and severe anxiety.

It's debilitating and terrifying and my thoughts are just so incredibly intrusive.

I've had it for at least four years and they say it's generalised anxiety disorder.

To me it's real. All the things going on in
my mind are real.

My Dr says this is mental illness and I am not well.

Don't really know why I am posting really ☹️🥺

That's not very helpful of him or her, is it?

It might be useful to know that when you think that bad things are going to happen all that's really happening is that you are imagining, but that your mind is to used to making the pretend scenario real that you forget that it's not real and then it scares you or makes you unhappy.

I think it was Mark Twain who said "'I've lived through some terrible things in my life, some of which actually happened.'"

When you get to the end of your day you could try writing down all the terrible things that you thought were going to happen that day, and which of them actually happened.

Then you could do the same with all the good things you imagined were going to happen, and how many of them actually happened.

This guide will also help you to recognise unhelpful thoughts and how to control them.
