Hi Victoria, this is a normal side effect - I know these side effects are hard - the worst side effects tend to go after 3 weeks and then it takes 6-12 weeks for most people to feel completely better. Hang in there, and take it one day at a time and one night at a time. I took Sertraline and unfortunately it wasn’t the right antidepressant for me as it affected my epilepsy, but I know loads of people who have pushed through the side effects and come out the other side. Sending lots of love

I’ve been on it for just over 2 months, started on 50mg and just been upped to 100mg recently. The first few weeks were pretty awful but I stuck with it and feel almost like myself again. I’ve had some major life events in the last year and should’ve sought help earlier, good luck

I'm two weeks in OP, started on 25 then up to 50.

I had the shakes a few times! It's not too hard though is it as symptoms go? They soon went - read the leaflet that comes with the meds so you're prepared for the side effects.

Your dr should have warned you that the first week can be hard but then gets much better.

Lots of people have a rough time on them for a few weeks, they can increase anxiety temporarily as well as cause physical symptoms. However, it settles down and lots of people find it really helpful so please stick with it.

I'd cut in half and start on 25mg. See how you get on with that. Side effects are normal in first couple of weeks and you need to titrate up slowly.

I'm on day three and feeling very anxious/shaky and a bit zoned out. My tummy isn't great either 🙈 I was warned I'd feel worse initially so I'm trying to keep going. I halved my dose today.. so now 25mg instead of 50mg to see if I function a bit better. Hang in there.. hopefully these side effects will pass.

I started a 11 days ago but i took half dose for 7 days.. i felt weird even on half dose. Ive done 4 days on full tablet and i'm waking at 3 and not getting to sleep again, had a headache and a bit shaky. Hoping it will improve & for you too.

I have been on Sertraline for just over 4 weeks now. The first 2 weeks were not great, increased anxiety, diarrhoea and a weirdly clenched jaw for me. Since then, though, things have improved rapidly. I was able to go back to work and did not panic or feel anxious about it. I am also feeling a bit more energetic and up to doing things again. I would say bear with it!
