Citalopram side effects?

Hoping someone can help. I suffer with health anxiety which got worse in April / may this year. Drs initially put me on Sertraline but I had really bad side effects so eventually drs took me off it and put me on amitriptaline on a low dose as I was struggling sleeping. Anywho.. my anxiety crept up again so drs have put me on a low does to start with of citalopram which I take along side amitriptaline to see how o get on.

So yesterday was day 11am taking these and all morning I felt weird legs where like jelly and arms all tingly muscles where hurting so I ended up going to bed at 11 to lay down and stayed there till this morning. So today I felt fine until about 3 pm when all of a sudden I felt unwell. My body feels week and when I stand up and walk about I feel like I'm going to pass out even when I'm sat I feel light headed

So my question is has anyone else felt like this When starting these tablets (baring in mind I'm only on 10mg) and is it normal for side effects to start after 10/11 days or should I ring the none emergency number

It's so hard for me as I don't know if it's my anxiety that's making me feel this way or if it's the tablets or if there's something actually wrong with me. Sorry for waffling

Hi I cant remember side effects exactly but I do know that citalopram can lower potassium levels which in itself can cause side effects like muscle weakness Maybe see if a salty snack helps. The body naturally adjusts and compensates but it takes time. Worth mentioning to GP.

Do you still get the weak feeling?

I was on citalopram for a short period of time but i went the opposite way, i became too alert to sleep, racing thoughts and hyper. I figured that was not normal and changed to different meds. Sorry this is probably not much help..
