Needs a boost - I have FINALLY a got products in my Etsy shop and they are selling very slowly but to some lovely reviews and comments. So WHY do I do everything I can to not put it on social, not produce it to the last minute…
I see some people on insta doing films and speaking and really engaging and I am a feared! Also they are 30 something and gorgeous with gorgeous homes and I’m about a million years old and looking it. Am also scared that’ll put people off…
Any tips on how I can talk some sense into myself?!

Hi @Thanksagainand

Congratulations on your Etsy shop! What are you selling? Does instagram feel like something you 'should' be doing or do you really feel like it would benefit your business?

I have a similar lack of confidence with social media and have mixed feelings about it really but overall find Instagram a positive place to be and the more you post the easier it gets. If you're not sure where to start, find accounts you like and then see how you could replicate it.

Thanks rainbow ninja! I’ll do that. Suspect it’s because my ‘competitors’ seem so good at it.
But you are right, I do get positive comments I just feel like I don’t have the confidence/ organisation to do amazing videos and photos!

Oh I know what you mean, it's hard but just be yourself and know that that is enough, that you are enough ❤️

If it’s examples or tutorials of you making things then nobody cares. It’s what you’re making. The woman I watch on YouTube bears an uncanny (and unfortunate) resemblance to Ursula the sea witch but no one cares because her needlefelting work is fantastic. Just do it

Thanks! Gosh I really wouldn’t know where to start with tutorials. This was more engaging with people. Other people in the same area seem to do lovely chats to camera and have obviously spent all morning doing hair and make up to look casual in a dressing gown and talk to fellow young mums with cute toddlers. The only think I look like in a dressing gown is an extra from doctor who and my toddlers are now a scary 16. I feel like a wierd granny trying to talk to very trendy young mums. Doesn’t feel right!
