Medication for grief

Hello, just wondering if anyone has ever been prescribed any anti-depressant for grief? I had a miscarraige in the summer and I'm grieving . My due date is coming up and I'm hoping that's why my mood is so up and down. I have a great counsellor and good support but I'm wondering If medication would help me that little bit more? I'm not 100% keen on it but after seen a post from Dr Alex today on insta, I realise medication is not something to be scared or embarrassed by when it comes to mental health.
Keen to hear peoples ideas. Thank you!

Hi @justhereforthecraic I'm so sorry for your loss. I had 3 losses before having my 2 DCs and it was an awful time.
I recently lost my mum very suddenly this summer. She was young and it was a completely unexpected loss. When it first happened I asked my GP to help me with medication. I was in total shock it was horrific. She was very helpful but explained that the key thing with grief is to feel it, or it may come back at a later date. So that's what I've been doing, feeling it. Ok it's been awful, the worst time, and I miss my mum so much, but I think I'm beginning to learn to sit with my grief and I'm realising what gets me through it - fresh air, watching mind numbing tv, the DCs etc. So just doing whatever helps.
Sending you lots of love x

@parfortheparsnip, thank you so much for getting back to me. I completely agree, it's all about trying to work alongside grief. I'm hoping when my due date comes and goes in 2 weeks , it will get easier and I will get my mojo back.I just have no "get up and go". I've put on a lot of weight and I just feel crap in general. I may go and speak to GP anyway like you did.
