How to approach discussion about antidepressants

Long story short, I’ve done CBT and upped my physical exercise to try and improve my MH. I’ve always had anxiety with it peaking after having my second child. Everyday I feel like my reactions to anything is just not proportionate. It’s like I know, but I can’t help it. I know feel like it’s impacting my kids interactions with me.

Anyways, I’d like to chat to GP about medication, but what is putting me off is actually having to call and tell a bloody receptionist why I was an GP appointment. Any advice on how to make my point without making the conversation anxiety inducing for me?

I told the receptionist it was to discuss a change in medication. They didn't seem to care much and didn't click or care that I wasn't actually on any medication to discuss. I do get the stress - our surgery needs you to phone a million times at 8.30 to get an appointment and it's so stressful.

I have put it off for years and years but have started on Sertraline and it has been transformative. My parenting and life this last week has been joyful. Genuinely. I never thought I would feel like this again.

Do it tomorrow.

Thank you @SomethingBeginningWithX I admit I should’ve done it years ago and at times I’ve had side conversation with them about it. I ended up going private with CBT.

Can you just ask for them? Is it likely I would get offered other therapies first?
