Is this normal

Just wondering for those of you who have at some point stopped your antidepressants, is this normal….?
I keep getting what I can only explain as a sudden pulse/buzz or what feels like static or pins and needles in my head almost like a ‘whoosh’ then it goes away again. I also get this randomly in one leg/foot for a second which then also just goes away again. anyone experienced this?

Yup. Very normal. I get it when I miss a dose too.

Hmmm. I can't recall if it lasted that long when I came off of Paxil (quite some time ago). Are you under the supervision of a doctor? Hopefully you as it is always very advisable to be when coming off. I would check in with my doctor.

Yes I think I had it for a while afterwards. It's called "brain zaps" I think.

I came off mine about a month ago now and still getting them 😕

Someone I knew had it for 6 months. Someone else I know is basically addicted to venlafaxine because of their inability to tolerate these side effects when coming off it.

Yep, brain zaps, very common

I had my brain zaps for over 5 years after - became less and less frequent (once every 6 months).

Very common, especially with venlafaxine. Have to decrease dose very slowly, stabilise for as long as necessary and then decrease again. Last time, it took me a year.
