I did.
I had several sessions, I felt lovely and relaxed when I was actually there, but then got really anxious about the fact he was keen to keep booking me. The last session I didn’t go under at all, I just sat there wishing I could escape. I had another appointment booked but made DH phone up and cancel.
It didn’t have any long term benefits unfortunately.

Citalopram was a life changer! The best medication I’ve ever had, my life was honestly perfect on that. It was only after I had to swap from that to another medication that my anxiety skyrocketed!

I’ve done acupuncture & reflexology-both brilliant whist doing them but i just can’t keep shelling out for things unfortunately. I do yoga & I meditate in the hope that it will all go away but no luck so far.

Sorry you are a fellow sufferer Flowers

I was on it for a short while -several months initially- & it really helped. I came off it, life was fine but then there were just a series of very stressful life events that impacted me quite badly so I went back on it. Life was great again & I assumed that I would just get to a place where I could come off it again but then they changed the maximum dose allowed & I had to swap medication.

I don’t recall any bad side effects but, tbh, I was just desperate for it all to stop so felt really happy leaving the Dr clutching my prescription knowing it might all stop and I’d get back to being ‘me’ again.

Anxiety sucks. I really hope it works for you, it’s worth a try because the side effects can’t be worse than the anxiety you are suffering!

Hypnotherapy is not really a treatment for anxiety. What stopped you from considering CBT?

I'm studying remedial hypnosis (which doesn't involve trance work) and have been able to give up smoking - I was on 20+ cigarettes a day for more than 40 years. Hypnosis can work for anxiety.

I’ve had CBT. Again it’s something that works fine when you are going to your weekly appointments (12 sessions only on the NHS with an 18 month wait for sessions pre Covid!) but, really hard to continue to do when you are on your own, and are so anxious even the prospect of picking up the phone to someone or answering your door for a delivery has you hyperventilating.
