Hi mumsnetters

I had my 3rd implant replaced last week and whilst I’m happy with it as a form of contraception, experience has taught me that the first month to 6 weeks can be hell for my mental health. It’s hard to describe, it’s almost a fatigued nihilism. I’m not ‘sad’ in the usual sense, I don’t cry, I just want to be in a ball under the covers and I’m willing it to end!

Anyway, I’m a week in and have barely been able to work this week. Had a big night out on Saturday which meant next to no sleep (bad timing on my part) and have been busy at work recently so really feel drained. Clearly I’m at fault! yesterday I was on the sofa, all day, in and out of sleep with a headache from hell. Very unlike me. I took a lateral flow, negative, and have been able to cook dinner tonight at least so hopefully on the mend.

Still fatigued and assuming this feeling of ‘meh’ will lift sooner than 6 weeks as this is feeling harder than usual.

Can anyone relate?
