Trazodone side effects

I'm currently being treated for depression and anxiety, it's been horrendous the last few months. I'm taking 3 x 150mg of trazodone each night, I've recently increased to this. My query is has anyone experienced a strange side effect with their eyes?? Last night I went to the kitchen in the dark, when I looked outside at the lights everything went funny. Rainbows and flashing lines!! But only in the areas of bright light. Not when I looked at something in the dark. Any ideas? Should I tell my doctor or will he think I'm an even bigger fruit loop than I already am Grin

Sorry I cant help with your question but may I ask you one? Does Trazodone help you sleep?Have you looked up side effects from Trazadone?

Yes it does, absolutely knocks me out. It was unusual for me to be awake to be honest but I had a poorly child

Thank you for that my Dr increased my dose but even worse now with insomnia.
Hope you find the answer to your question, what about talking to optician maybe get your eyes looked at. Are you on tablets or capsules they can cause different problems.

I've had a google since I posted this and it does seem to be a side affect, one that I need to tell my doctor about too!

I take the tablets. Maybe it's your dosage that needs adjusting? I'm out like a light.

Hello RT 12
I am on this drug with others and it does not seem to have made things worse with side affects but also not sure it has made things better. I have had other drugs which did cause side effects so I would try it.

hi meringue1234 took them las night and feel so nauseous today and very light headed I was currently on mirtapine and quietapine which did help my mood alot but it was the constant hunger that put me off but I'm thinking now I jus have to deal with it cos they seem to be the only ones that agree with me Sad

Meringue1234 · 11/11/2021 18:07

Hello RT12
I was on Quetiapine as well but the constant hunger and weight gain was terrible which is why I am in Trazadone now.
Hope you get sorted fingers crossed let me know how it works out for you.

Sad the quietapine for me r great for sleep and anxiety but the hunger is terrible I'm not a big eater but once I take them I feel like I could eat everything ShockConfused

hey guys so gp suggested jus giving myself a break until I see her on Wednesday again as she thinks wev mixed so many anti ds atm so we can discuss more on Wednesday, jus wanted to ask have any of you ladies any experience of any that help u sleep but was very few side effects? I've tried escitaloprám, trazadone and venxir which all made me feel so sick and dizzy like spaced out if u get me the venxir made me the sickest of them all like had a very bad reaction so I'm really reluctant to try any anything else Sad mirtapine seems to be the only one that agrees with me although I can't stand the weight gain and feel it jus makes me more down but no I need something? thanks ladies any experiences would be most helpful

Sorry can not offer any help as Trazadone does work for me, I think lots make you put on weight which is hard to stop.
Let us know how you get on with the GP Wednesday.
Good Luck
