Prozac question

I was prescribed prozac on Friday and started taking it today. Throughout the day i've felt spacey, queasy and not quite with it.I also feel really panicky for no good reason. At the moment my DS and DH have the dreaded tummy bug thats going the rounds so i really can't be dealing with drug side effects. I need to be "with it" in case any of them get worse and need tyaking to A and E. (OK i'm probably over reacting here but you get the picture!)
Would it do any harm to stop taking them for a bit and then start again when all the stress is over? I've only taken the one so withdrawal shouldn't be a problem. As far as the depression goes, i've dealt with it by my self for ages so another week or so won't matter.

Hi , I had the same problem. I think that it can take while to get used to things and they say that your symptoms can happen.
However, for me the dose was too strong. I hated the way it mad me feel and I could not function and look after my family.
I actually needed a child's dose, so I had it in liquid form and would take 2,5 ml a day. This suited me really well, I got the help I need without the side effects.
DON"T stop taking it, go to see the dr and see about adjusting the dose.
Good luck

Well, last night was horrendous! All evening i was really panicky and agitated, which is not good if your looking after a sick DH and DS at the same time! I spent the entire night in as weird state between asleep and awake and having really trippy dreams. I've never taken hallucinagenic drugs but i imagine that this is how it must feel. This morning i feel like absolute death. I guess i'll have to go back to the dr, but i won't get chance until next week now. AAAArgh!

Sounds like you would be better off stopping them! Why not ask the dr for some in a liquid form?
