Hello Smile
Having a bad time mental health wise.

Tried a few other ADs with bad side effects even ended up in A&E with one.

Psychiatrist has recommended trying vortioxetine.

Any experiences? Good or bad?
Side effects??

Getting desperate so keen to get something sorted. Am having therapy btw but psychiatrist thinks it will be a long road before it all starts to come together and that it will take longer without medication.

I've been taking Vortioxetine for about two months now, to help me with postnatal anxiety and depression. I was previously on Sertraline, but I was on the highest dose with no real decrease in my anxiety and depression post partum. I haven't had any significant side effects with the Vortioxetine, I seem to get on with it better than Sertraline. I had to slowly taper off the Sertraline, and as that decreased, the Vortioxetine dose increased. It wasn't a medication I had heard of before it was prescribed to me. I think as with most medications, you have to weigh up the pros and cons, but I think it's definitely worth a try.

I couldn’t tolerate it and was violently sick every time I took it. My psychiatrist did say it was unusual though.

Thank you @Pinkandpurplehairedlady good to know. It is useful to hear both good and bad so I can be prepared.

Has anyone tried it and suffered emotional blunting as in not being able to feel love for their family??

I tried sertraline and after a single dose I couldn't feel love for anyone. It was terrifying and awful. This is why I'm not sure whether to try these.
