Why am I nervous to go out alone?

I’ve changed my username for this but I seem to have developed a fear almost of going out on my own.
I’m ok going out with my DC and would be fine going out with someone else I was with but it’s on my own there’s just some sort of fear in me lately.
I’ve never felt like this before.
I get ready, dressed, makeup, hair etc and then It comes to time to do something simple like going to the shop for food and I just can’t do it alone and can only go when my teenage DC are with me.
How can I help myself with this?
I’ve always worn earphones/earpods when out as it’s too noisy and prefer to wear sunglasses in the summer and for as long as possible afterwards too but I’ve always been ok going out on my own until recently.
I don’t want this to get worse.

Could something have triggered this? Or did it come out the blue? It is definitely worth chatting to your GP about it.

Start with small steps. Leave the house and walk to the nearest lamp post, then go back home. When you feel ok going that far, then walk to the next lamp post.
