Looking for a bit of advice. My 17 year old has recently be prescribed Sertraline for anxiety. She seems so much better mentally already (7days in). However, it's making her vomit and giving her bad headaches. Did any of you have these side effects? Do they pass? She's on 50mg.

I started on 50mg a week ago and had a terrible headache on days 3 and 4, then bad indigestion since then. I'm off my food too. All normal apparently, and will probably pass. Nausea is listed as a side effect. I think I'm beginning to feel the benefit so am sticking with it. The thing to really watch out for is worsening mood, especially with teenagers.

Ok thanks. Yes, mood has noticeably improved already. I guess the anxiety was causing irritability.

It takes a few weeks to settle but it's worth it!

I have been taking them for the last 7 months, I had a few side effects for the first 6 weeks, but I was told by my GP it does usually take around 2 months for your body fully adjust to them, but they have worked wonders for me.

Ok thanks everyone. She needs to stick with it then!
