Need advice please. I'm really worried about 12 yo DD.
About a month ago she seemed to have a patch in her eye brows both sides. I asked what happened and she brushed it off and then shaved both eye brows off. This was v odd. I spoke to her again and got her some of that brow grow serum to grow them back.
Last week she pulled out all of her upper eye lashes. Or at least I assume she pulled them out as they're gone and it looks very strange.
I am absolutely devastated. I'm worried she might have trichotillomania.
It is clear she is just on the cusp of starting her periods and her hormones have really changed over the last 3 months. She's also grown a lot both physically and emotionally.
We also had the death of FIL less than 3 months ago and the funeral and everything that this brings with it. We lost MIL a year ago almost to the day. And due to covid never had a proper service for her. Which made FILs passing even more emotional.
I am so so worried about her and that she might feel stressed/distressed/anxious.
If anyone has experience of this with pre-teens/teens please let me know what my first port of call should be.
Do I talk to GP? We have a lovely GP. Or the school? Do I just very quickly find a private therapist ASAP? I suspect waiting for NHS to do something could be a very long wait. We can pay or have insurance.
Any advice would be great. Thank you. Am so worried.
