Do you have to give notice?

If you are in therapy does your therapist require you give notice to quit and if so by how long?

What would happen with regards to a notice period if there was a dispute and you want to terminate services immediately?

It’ll be in your contract - either with the therapist or with the clinic it’s through. If it’s NHS then you can speak to PALS

I don't have a contract and was never given one. It's private not NHS and not through a clinic.

Just stop going. No need to pay for any more sessions.

I'm a bit worried I might have been taken advantage of but I honestly don't even know what is reasonable, I'm so confused right now.

Trying to get a rough idea of what is expected on average and what people would consider reasonable.

Is the therapist BACP or UKCP? You can check by Googling them to find their name on either site.

You can talk to the therapist about it but also get advice from their accrediting body if not.

Thank you @jendifer I've had word I'm getting the money back for the ridiculous and sudden 4 weeks notice period.
