Sertraline and pregnancy

I've been on Sertraline for a couple of years, I've accidentally gotten pregnant. Now I'm worried about the fact I'm on sertraline.

Does anyone have experience with this?

Should I taper off as soon as possible?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Hi @thinkingoutloud2, congratulations! I'd get a GP's advice as soon as poss but from my own experience I had to come off Prozac when I got pregnant and ended up going on to Sertraline when I was a bit further along, it was also safe for breastfeeding.

I stayed on sertraline all through my first pregnancy - the GP told me it is the antidepressant of choice for pregnant women so it was good that it happened to be the one I was already on. By all means speak to yours for reassurance if you're concerned, it's a totally reasonable thing to ask about!
