iv started citalopram 4 weeks ago started on 10g for 2 weeks and now on 20mg for past 2 weeks. im still not my self and iv changed from night to morning taking them as i couldn't sleeep but now feeling so tired in the day cant cope. also side affects the sexual side effects i literally cant feel anything while having sex im just numb down stairs. can anyone who had this problem did it improve eventually? at all? its really annoying me that im trying to get better and now have another issue. also does it take longer than 4 weeks to see big diffrence in mood?

It took me 4-6 weeks to feel less tired. What about taking them at 4 or 5pm so you can sleep? I found going straight to bed was ok, but if I started to do anything I was awake. Citalopram lowers potassium which can make you tired, but the body eventually adjusts. Potassium is in bananas, salty crisps etc.

I'm the same then bounce back 6 hours later! I was taking it about 10.30 and that worked for me. Good luck.

Hi all, I was looking for a thread on this drug as I am about to take my 3rd pill. (I'm on 10mg a day). Last night I took it about 7pm and found it hard to sleep so thinking of best time, I don't want to be groggy in the day. How long did your side effects last? Thanks!

Also, any experiences of drinking alcohol when first taking them?
