Hey all..

My mental head is not in a great place and hasn't been for a long while. I suffer with awful and debilitating anxiety.

I start a new part time job today. Am hoping it's going to be a distraction and help me on the road to recovery.

I'm Scared. Not worked in a long while.

Please wish me luck.

Good luck 🍀

The time will pass quickly because you'll be taking so much new stuff in, so just fix a smile and get through today. You'll be fine, just be prepared to be absolutely exhausted at the end from being 'on' the whole time. Go get 'em!

Good luck and please remember that we all find the first day hard.

You think you’ll never learn all the names, so much new information about the job, etc

It sounds like by going back to work you’re stepping out of your comfort zone. The fact you’ve taken this step shows you’re stronger than you may give yourself credit for.

Well done already for being brave and setting this up! Good luck today. Can I suggest you tidy your bedroom (change sheets etc) nicely so you can focus on that nice, clean safe space waiting for you if you feel overwhelmed at any point. Just imagine your lovely room and how much you're going to love getting into bed having the first day behind you.

Good luck. Keep taking it one minute at a time: if you feel panicky, take some slow deep breaths.
