Ssri’s and vivid dreams

Recently started escitalopram and having really vivid dreams which are quite unsettling. I’m taking it in the morning. Is this side effect likely to go or am I stuck with them? Do some ssri’s cause this more than others? Thanks

In my experience I get the vivid dreams either when starting an SSRI or when tapering off them. It should ease off as your brain gets used to them. I get it, they can be very unsettling.

Mine went after a few days on citalopram.

For me, with some SSRIs the dreams faded after a few days/weeks, with others, they persisted the whole time I took them. I think it really varies from person to person and from drug to drug.

I take it too and still have vivid dreams 2 months on

I have had them every night for years. I am on sertraline. That being said, I had pretty intense dreams before starting them, so I imagine I am not a normal case.
