Advice re DH mental breakdown at work

Hi. I really hope my name change worked.
My lovely DH has a very stressful job. The last week things got worse after returning from leave.
He had what sounds like a breakdown / mental health crisis and had amazing help to get him home and treatment.
I don't want to write too much more as this is identifiable probably to people who know him.

I'd be really interested to hear from people who had a work related breakdown and what I can best to to support. Especially around discussing how long to have off, fielding messages from colleagues, maybe accompanying him to appointments? I guess an HR perspective useful too.
Thanks for reading

Thank you. The GP discussion was tricky as he felt he'd be back soon enough to normal work. I was not sharing that opinion and he wouldn't discuss. But she signed off for 4 weeks, plus the 1 week he already has. That's a starting point.
I'll take him to the crisis team appt Friday. I'm in touch with his boss so I'm going to ask the sick pay question without him getting stressed. We can't live on my salary so best to know now.
